Viktoriia Vitrenko is a Ukrainian soprano, conductor and curator with a focus on contemporary music. As founder and Artistic Director of INTERAKT Initiative, she develops participatory formats at the intersection of music, interdisciplinary art and social intervention. As a singer she has performed at the Kölner Philharmonie, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam and Konzerthaus Dortmund, and has worked with ensembles such as Ensemble Musikfabrik and musica assoluta, and conductors including Markus Stenz and Tito Ceccherini. In the 2026/27 season she makes her debut with Klangforum Wien under the baton of Bas Wiegers. Her debut album Scenes (AUDITE, 2019) featuring chamber music by György Kurtág was awarded the Supersonic Pizzicato Award and nominated for the ICMA 2020. Further recordings on Sony Classical and Kyiv Dispatch. As a conductor she has led the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester and Ensemble Musikfabrik, among others.

“Die Aufführung gelingt in höchstem Maße: Stenz leitet die Musikfabrik unaufgeregt und präzise, das Ensemble bewegt sich virtuos zwischen Intimität und Opulenz (herauszuheben sind die Hornistin Cecilie Marie Schwagers und die Cymbalom-Spielerin Enikö Ginzery), und die ukrainische Sopranistin Viktoriia Vitrenko macht jede der oft nur halbminütigen Botschaften zu einer eigenen Theaterszene mit glasklarem Gesang in allen Registern, im Lachen und Weinen, Gurren und Fluchen. "DIE SOPRANISTIN VIKTORIIA VITRENKO HIELT DEN SAAL IN ATEMLOSER SPANNUNG"

“So gestaltete ihn auch die ukrainische Sopranistin Viktoriia Vitrenko, die von kehliger Brusttiefe bis zu einem nurmehr auf den Stimmrändern balancierenden Höhenregister ein beeindruckend weites Klangspektrum entfaltete und dazu die jähen Brüche zwischen Singen, Schreien und Lachen zu einem fesselnden Charakterporträt formte. Die kleinteilige Werkstruktur, das beständige Ab- und Ansetzen nötigte allen Beteiligten ein hohes Maß an innerer Sammlung und wacher Kommunikation auf. Das Ergebnis war ein Musizieren, das in seiner Intensität und kompromisslosen Zuspitzung den Saal über eine halbe Stunde hinweg in atemloser Spannung hielt.“

“Dass Second Skin gelingen konnte, ist das Ergebnis einer außergewöhnlichen Zusammenarbeit.”

„Second Skin“ (Künstlerische Leitung: Viktoriia Vitrenko und Jana Hotz) hat eindrucksvoll gezeigt, dass Mode weit mehr sein kann als Kleidung. Sie kann Identität ausdrücken, Barrieren sichtbar machen und Menschen miteinander ins Gespräch bringen. Der Abend machte deutlich, wie wichtig es ist, unterschiedliche Lebensrealitäten mitzudenken und Gestaltung als etwas zu verstehen, das allen Menschen Teilhabe ermöglicht. Gerade Projekte wie dieses erinnern daran, dass Kunst und Kultur dann ihre größte Wirkung entfalten, wenn sie nicht nur betrachtet, sondern erlebt werden. Ein inspirierender Abend, der lange nachwirkt und zeigt, wie viel gesellschaftliche Kraft in Kreativität, Offenheit und Begegnung steckt.“

MAKING wavES

The women's vocal ensemble "Making waves" (artistic director - Viktoriia Vitrenko) was founded in 2010 in Kiev, Ukraine, as a spin-off of the student choir "KPI". After only a few months, the singers made their debut on the stage of the Lviv Organ Hall with "La petite fille sage" from "Petites voix" by Francis Poulenc. ︎︎︎
